Over a billion Android Devices are at Risk

Over a billion devices powered by Snapdragon SoC are at risk . TrendLabs has discovered serious snapdragon security vulnerabilities that could be exploited by an attacker by simply running a malicious app. Due to flaws at kernel level code, hackers could exploit the vulnerabilities to gain root access on Qualcom devices by installing malicious application . The could also get remote access of the device .

Affected Devices

Due to heavily customization of kernel by manufactures it is very difficult to exactly identifies the vulnerable devices. Google has suggested the devices running Android earlier than 4.4.4  Kitkat to 6.0.1 Marshmallow .

What can be done ?

Security patch is already released by Google in February Security update .However , as we all know how long it takes the companies to roll out the update, this puts most of the devices still at risk .
Popular devices likes LG G5 , Samsung Flagship like S6,S6 edge , Oneplus 3 and many more.

Before you get your software patched kindly avoid installing unwanted apps and games . Strictly do not install any app or games form any third party websites .
